Give your child the gift of a life time!
" Self Confidence "
* Children in our classes receive special attention!
The goal of our Junior Beginner Program is to learn the basic martial arts principles in an enjoyable classroom atmosphere with emphasis on practice and Life Skills. We also teach additional qualities such as Conflict Avoidance techniques and personal safety strategies.
We will increase your child's confidence and self esteem by teaching them: how to handle peer pressure and bullies and how to defend themselves. Through practicing the curriculum their motor skills will increase.
Our martial arts program is carefully designed to strengthen your child physically and improve his/her ability to listen and learn. These key skills will improve performance in all areas of your child's life. Our program works in a progressive manner so your child learns at an age-appropriate pace, laying the foundation for a lifetime of success.
To repeat, martial arts at Vancouver Martial Arts is less about your child learning to fight others, and more about fighting himself. His innermost fears. Conquer them, and your child unleashes within himself a powerful, unstoppable force. A force that gives him the strength to kick down the doors of his own self doubts. A force that opens your child to the exalting power of values.
In other words, when your child uses the discipline of martial arts to conquer his fears, he has the power to translate that discipline to all other areas of his life. I know of no other sport that does this better than martial arts. I should know. I have been teaching it for over 23 years and I have done most sports from my childhood till end of my education in university with Human Kinetic major!
Send us your contact information and Master Azizi will get in contact with you within 24 hrs to discuss the best option for your child. If this is a referral, please ensure you enter the persons name who referred you.
"We enrolled our son at Vancouver Martial Arts in October 2012 at the age of 6. He was born extremely premature at 25 wks and weighing only 1lb 3oz. Due to his prematurity, he had some delay with his core strength, balance, and gross and fine motor skills. We were given advice to consider gymnastics, swimming and martial arts by his medical team to help him develop to his full potential. Our son's experience at VMA is that it has surely helped him improve and further develop strength, balance, and his coordination. He has made many friendships in class with classmates as well as his instructors and never wants to miss a class! In addition to the physical benefits he has also benefitted from an increase in self confidence. He is motivated by the incentives to receive leadership roles and enjoys being challenged as he aspires to move up to each new belt. We also appreciate Master Azizi's positive attitude and the interest he takes in getting to know each child. It has been a very positive experience for all of us and we are happy to recommend Vancouver Martial Arts to others."

"Vancouver Martial Arts has been a tremendously rewarding and fun experience for my son and our whole family. We have watched his confidence and physical abilities grow under the expert guidance of Master Arsalan and his Vancouver Martial Arts team!"
-Dr. Peter J.Zetler , M.D.
"Vancouver Martial Arts not only got me in great shape and taught me effective and practical self defense in a safe and positive environment, but also helped my son to become more disciplined, confident and respectful!"

"Vancouver Martial Arts is encouraging my daughter to reach her personal maximum potential. She is developing strength of mind and strength of body. I am delighted with the concepts of Vancouver Martial Arts to guide the young and to see my child in the role of the mentored and mentor. The skills and philosophies learned at Vancouver Martial Arts will give direction to my daughter throughout her life."
Our family is very happy to be part of Vancouver Martial Arts. When we decided to enroll our children in martial arts, we investigated several schools. Although Vancouver Martial Arts was not in our neighborhood, we were so struck by the difference in approach it offered over other schools, we decided it was worth driving across town to attend. At Vancouver Martial Arts, martial arts is presented not just as a sport of kicking, punching and being victorious, but rather a way to grow as a human being. In particular we value the positive, dynamic language Master Arsalan Azizi always uses with his students, exhorting them to do and be their best in the lessons and all areas of their lives. His teaching method is gentle and patient, while at the same time encouraging and expecting students to strive for a high standard of performance. Master Azizi is also clearly a skilled martial artist himself, giving us confidence the skills being taught properly and well. Vancouver Martial Arts has student of all ages, athletic abilities, body types, temperaments and ethnic backgrounds in various belt levels. This diversity is important to us for two reasons. Firstly, it shows that both our children, with their two very different personalities, have an equal chance to succeed. Secondly it demonstrates to our children themselves the universality of martial arts; this is something they can do their whole lives. Seeking and attaining the belt levels has helped our children see the values of working diligently toward a goal, and given them pride of achievement. As a sport, martial arts have helped their strength, speed, agility and self-defense skills. But more importantly to us, the positive environment of Vancouver Martial Arts teaches them confidence, self-discipline and respect for themselves and others. We are please to recommend Vancouver Martial Arts to anyone interested in bettering themselves with martial arts.

Parents of Joshua and Justin Kamin I enrolled my son in taekwondo at Vancouver Martial Arts because I wanted him to increase his self-confidence. After attending Vancouver Martial Arts for about a year and a half, I can see that he approaches physical activity with more confidence. Now, he engages in sports more aggressively. When I asked my son what he felt was the biggest change since starting taekwondo; without; hesitation, he said that his lower-body strength has increased with all the kicks he's learnt and practiced. He's proud that he can now outrun some classmates who used to be faster than him! My son has received benefits from practicing taekwondo; however, I continue to send my son to Vancouver Martial Arts because I can sense a passion and deep sense of commitment from Master Arsalan. He wants to show people how they can integrate martial arts into their life to experience physical, emotional and spiritual success.
I have two boys, 11 and 9 years of age. Both have been at the Vancouver Martial ArtsSchool for the past three and a half years. My reasoning for sending the children to the facility in the first place was because of the outstanding references I had recieved from other parents. In retrospect, it was one of the finest decisions I have made. Both children have surpassed my expectations in developing a wonderful positive wholesome approach to martial arts. This has naturally trickled down into their attitudes and confidence levels at home and in school. They have become focused in their studies and last but not least, Bahir (11 years old) is a few months away from a black belt. He plans to continue well into the future as a memeber of the facility. His younger brother is also at his black stripe level. I would encourge all parents to seriously consider investing in their children through the Vancouver Martial Arts School.

Janice visited Vancouver Martial Arts 3 years ago with her friend. She was full of excitement and curiosity in the marital arts. Ever since, she has been enjoying learning Tae Kwan Do under Master Arslan Azizi's teaching. For the last 3 years, Janice committed to Vancouver Martial Arts to learn Tae Kwon Do and gained lots of confidence as she see herself progressing. She is so pound to tell people that she is now in red belt. Janice talks and demonstrates her accomplishments in martial arts with a great sense of joy and pride. She also develops a bond of kinship with friends in the Vancouver Martial Arts. She gets to learn from seniors and offers her knowledge and skills to the younger children. I am also pleased that Janice has had the opportunity to meditate before each class begins. I believe that it helps her focus and discipline her mind. I attribute Janice's success in the martial art to the effort of Master Arsalan Azizi. He always teaches his students to respect each other and to develop the leadership through helping each other and working together to achieve their common goals. Master encourages students to do their best by acknowledging and complimenting their effort and success. Martial arts is one of the greatest things Janice has done; staying fit, and boosting her confidence and learning to defend herself when needed. She is looking forward to get her black belt soon and will continue her journey of becoming the best that she can be.
Justin has been attending Vancouver Martial Arts for nearly one year now. The program has instilled in him a sense of purpose, focus and disciplne without disturbing his pacifist phiolosophy. It has helped him remain calm under trying circumstances and also gives him an outlet for physical expression, which helps provide balance with the more intellectual pursuits which occupy most of his time. We are especialy happy with his participation in Vancouver Martial Arts because of its philosophy of encouraging individuals to improve to their maxium potential. Thank you for providing such a positive atmoshopre for personal growth.
